The Rutland Redevelopment Authority (RRA) was formed in 1989 and serves as Rutland City's economic development entity. It handles grant writing and administration; housing, economic and community development; Downtown and Neighborhood Development Area Designations; and land use planning, and works closely with the Downtown Rutland Partnership, which is funded through the Special Benefits District assessment.
