The Department of Community Development and Planning is responsible for a wide range of activities throughout Marblehead including land use planning, economic development, housing projects, historic preservation, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. The department coordinates the Town’s efforts with state agencies and regional planning commissions and oversees the operations of the following regulatory boards: Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Old and Historic Districts Commission, Design Review Board, and Community Development.
