At the San Diego East County Economic Development Council, we strive to cultivate an innovative and sustainable region by bridging the gap between industry, education, government, and infrastructure. Our job is to convene these disparate groups in order to craft an economic base that expands existing business, promotes new economic opportunities, and drives forward the initiatives of our stakeholders.

The South County Economic Development Council (South County EDC or SCEDC), a 501c3 non-profit organization, was formed in 1989 by a group of South San Diego County business and community leaders to promote education and encourage economic development in the South San Diego County Region. It aims to improve and enhance South County’s bi-national economy, image, and quality of life and to heighten public awareness of Southern California’s desirability as a place to live, work, and dream.

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, or GO-Biz, serves as the State of California’s leader for job growth, economic development and business assistance efforts. It offers no-cost consultation to business owners for attraction, retention and expansion services, site selection, permit streamlining, clearing of regulatory hurdles, small business assistance, international trade development, assistance with state government, and more.
