The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is the principal economic development agency for Chelan and Douglas Counties and is the first of its kind in Washington. It operates as an independent government entity formed by the consolidation of the Port of Chelan County and the Port of Douglas County.

Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) is Washington State’s only trade association laser-focused on economic development, committed to recovering, retaining, recruiting and expanding jobs and reinvestment in Washington State. WEDA's members include economic development organizations, cities, counties, ports, tribes, businesses, education and community-based organizations that prioritize economic development, and the association advocates for development opportunities in state legislative and regulatory arenas.

As the state’s economic development agency, the Washington State Department of Commerce focuses on strengthening key industries, expanding international trade, helping small businesses grow, providing training to a new generation of workers, providing access to funding, and supporting the work of local economic development partners in all 39 Washington counties.
