The White Oak Economic Development Corporation (WOEDC) was developed in 1995 when citizens approved a ½ cent sales tax to boost the community's economic development; the City Coordinator serves as Executive Director and organizes all economic development activities. The board comprises seven volunteer directors and the EDC has been involved in relocation, retention, and development projects to maintain quality of life and increase the tax base.
